MED & SOLAS Approved. The L160 also holds ATEX, IECEx and ETL listings under UL913. It is intrinsically safe (category 1) and as such is suitable for use in hazardous zones 0, 1 and 2. The L161 is our new intrinsically safe Lifebuoy Light, replacing the well established L40 Light.

Operation
| When To Use |
| The light is automatically switched on when the lifebuoy is deployed. As the lifebuoy is deployed, the lanyard will lift the light from its mounting bracket. Upon leaving the bracket, the rip cord attached to the switch the light. When switched on, the light will provide a flashing light of at least 2 Cd. Once the light has been deployed, it must be considered expended and replaced with a new light |
